توضیحات:

روترهای سری 880 از سال 2006  و در چهار مدل 881 و 886 و 887 و 888 توسط شرکت سیسکو تولید و روانه بازار شد و متعاقبا در بعضی از مدل‌ها از سال 2010 به بعد  از رده تولید خارج شده است و در بعضی از مدل‌های دیگر نیز هنوز تولید می‌شود.

روترهای سری 880 جزو سری‌های (Integrated Services Routers (ISRs سیسکو بوده که با مجتمع کردن سرویس‌های Voice , Data, Wireless و Security در یک دستگاه قابلیت منحصر به‌فردی را فراهم نموده است. این سری با ارائه ویژگی‌های خاص از جمله (firewall, content filtering, VPNs, and wireless LANs (WLANs یک دستگاه ایده‌آل جهت شرکت‌ها و دفاتر کوچک یا اتصال شعبات کوچک یک شرکت بزرگ به شرکت مادر می‌باشد.

  •    Intrusion prevention system (IPS) to protect branch network from known signature-based malware
  •    Content filtering and whitelisting through Cisco Cloud Web Security Application Services (available as an add-on license)
  •   Cisco Wide Area Application Services Express for lightweight application acceleration for the branch
